Booker High school Spin night is FEB 1, 2024
Booker High School's Student Parent Information Night is from 5:30 to 7:30 on Thursday, FEB. 1 in the Courtyard of BHS. It is an opportunity to discover unique opportunities, meet staff, tour the campus--the classrooms, the studios, and the mock courtroom. You will learn about the Visual and Performing Arts Program, the college prep University of Cambridge AICE Program and the school's Law Academy.

Shadowing at Booker High School is your chance to live a “day in the life” as a student here. Following a current student, you will experience three periods in your art form then follow this student throughout their day to get a feel for the academics, lunch and social aspects of our school. Visiting students are to adhere to the policy of no cell phones in class. Students can bring their lunch or purchase lunch for $2.75.
DANCE: Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. Please bring dance clothes and shoes. Dancers have their own locker room for changing.

Visual and Performing arts
The Booker High School Visual and Performing Arts Program offers admission by audition. Students must successfully complete an application to join any of our six departments — Dance, Film & Animation, Music, Production & Design, Theatre, or Visual Art. The application components include academic competence, strong recommendations by current teachers or mentors, and, of course, demonstration of skill in the discipline of choice. All candidates must complete the first part of the online Acceptd application at www.BookerVPA.com/apply in order to make an appointment for an audition or interview. ** Students MUST have an adult create an account for them through the Acceptd application; this may be a parent, teacher, or counselor.

law academyThe Booker High School Law Academy provides students with a rigorous academic program in conjunction with course work in Law Studies and Criminal Justice. Booker High School has the support of the Sarasota County Bar Association and local law enforcement professionals in providing students with curriculum materials, real world experiences and expertise. A mock courtroom is set up to simulate a real courtroom to allow students to apply their knowledge and skills by conducting mock trials.
